It was the first job I had after University and I was sat in a staff meeting watching everyone put their opinion forward on a subject matter I had no clue about as I was new to the organisation. The debate soon got heated, everyone was putting their opinion forward and they wanted to be heard. However what baffled me was the fact that everyone kept on saying “my opinion is” I heard this said over and over. The meeting took longer than it should have because everyone wanted to put their opinion forward hence there was no moving forward. The meeting would have been quicker, more effective and productive if everyone looked at the facts and not their opinions.

This is true in life as it is true in business, you can never move forward if you are dealing with opinions. So many people are not doing what they were born to do today all because of someone else’s opinion. When I failed my high school exams the fact was that I was a high school failure, for a lot of people the opinion was that I was a failure in life. However I did not see myself as a failure in life, I looked at what the facts were and decided to change them. You must never look at the opinions because opinions are not reality, look at the facts and your life will change for the better.
